The 1st IEEE International Workshop on Advance in Cyber-Physical Networks (ACPN2021)

In conjunction with the 18th IEEE International Conference on Mobile Ad-Hoc and Smart Systems (IEEE MASS 2021)

October 4 - 7, 2021, Denver, CO, USA

THE WORKSHOP SCOPE

Recently, due to the rapid proliferation of sensors and smart devices, a new revolution in communication has been witnessed. The next generation of networks will utilize a wide variety of resources with significant sensing capabilities. Such networks will extend beyond physically linked computers to multimodal information from biological, cognitive, semantic, and social networks. This paradigm shift will involve symbiotic networks of humans, smart devices, and the environment, which is referred to as the Cyber-Physical Networks (CPN).  These devices and the network will be constantly sensing, monitoring, and interpreting the environment. The symbiosis of CPN will have significant implications for both the market for advanced networking infrastructure and the future markets – for nearly 6.0 billion people -- that CPN will create.

WORKSHOP ORGANIZERS

Workshop Co-Chairs:

Huan Zhou, China Three Gorges University,  zhouhuan117@163.com

En Wang, Jilin University,  wangen@jlu.edu.cn

TOPICS OF INTEREST

Although many researchers have paid attention to CPN, CPN still face many challenges (e.g., architecture, security, privacy, big data analysis, etc.). This workshop solicits papers with novel contributions that address such issues regarding advances in CPN. Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Software-defined Networks for CPN
  • Architecture, model and simulation tools for CPN
  • Routing protocol, data dissemination and offloading algorithms design for CPN
  • Security, privacy and trust for CPN
  • Big data mining and analytics for CPN
  • Edge, Cloud and fog computing for CPN
  • Machine learning models and methods for CPN
  • Green computing and sustainable computing for CPN
  • New applications on CPN

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Papers submission: July 15th, 2021. (strict deadline)
  • Notification of acceptance: July 25th, 2021.
  • Camera-ready paper due: July 31st, 2021.
  • Workshop date: October 7, 2021 (tentative).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS

All submissions should be written in English and using IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts style: single-spaced, double-column pages using 10pt size fonts on 8.5 x 11 inch pages, with side-margin at least 1 inch, including all figures, tables, and references, in PDF format. More information and template downloads can be found at the IEEE MASS main page.

Submitted papers should not be published or under review elsewhere.

Regular submissions are restricted to 6 pages.

REVIEW AND PUBLICATION OF MANUSCRIPTS

Submitted papers will be reviewed by the workshop Program Committee and judged on originality, technical correctness, relevance, and quality of presentation. An accepted paper must be presented at the IEEE MASS 2021 venue by one of the authors registered at the full registration rate. Each workshop registration covers up to two workshop papers by an author. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the MASS proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases. IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference, including IEEE Xplore® Digital Library if the paper is not presented by the author at the conference.

ACPN 2021 PAPER SUBMISSION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Authors declare that the submission is original and has not been submitted to other venue or under consideration by other venues.
  • Paper titles and/or author names cannot be changed and/or added to the papers once papers are submitted to ACPN 2021 for review and in the final camera-ready manuscript.
  • If the paper is accepted, at least one of the authors must register at full rate and present it in person at the conference. Accepted and paid paper(s) but not presented onsite by the registered author(s) (for any reason, including visa issues, travel problems, etc.) will be published in the conference proceedings only. We strongly encourage that all authors of accepted papers apply for an entry visa to Hawaii in case one author cannot get the entry visa.

REGISTRATION

Please note that at least one author of each accepted paper needs to register and present the paper at the workshop.

Please refer to the main conference MASS 2021 for registration information.

CONFERENCE VENUE

Please refer to the main conference MASS 2021 for hotel and local information.
